In order to qualify for Zero Defect Zero Effect certification from the Government of India, as certified by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), a manufacturing facility undergoes an assessment. There are multiple criteria for evaluation, including but not limited to overall quality management system (QMS), process efficiency (PE), waste control (WC), workplace safety procedures and practices (WSPP), and environmental impact (EI). The assessment also determines whether defect prevention is built into production processes and whether your facility is not just relying upon end inspection to catch defects. Soni Engineering Works has achieved ZED certification. This means that the quality methodology upon which a buyer depends for biscuit line performance, based on an independent assessment by a government body, is aligned with a nationally defined standard. From the perspective of international procurement teams, ZED certification is very relevant. It falls under the larger umbrella of ‘Make in India’ and is recognized as a direct credential from the MSME Ministry. Therefore, when buyers submit their purchasing decisions for governmental or institutional approval, they can cite a verifiable credential showing compliance with national standards.
Soni Engineering Works is a registered exporter with a valid import-export code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Our company operates under all applicable export compliance regulations, including all required documentation, customs classification, and cross-border shipping obligations to safeguard buyers against delays and failed clearances resulting from informal sources.
When manufacturers deliver an assembled, tested, and certified product, they rely on process-based quality control rather than depending solely on a final check at the customer’s site. In the ZED philosophy, defect prevention is emphasised during the manufacturing process and not just when the product is completed. For example, if a piece of production equipment operates for three shifts or experiences intense usage with no predicted unplanned downtime, there is a clear difference between a line that meets all specifications from the day it is installed and one that has to endure delays or reduced performance.
The ZED certification process (Zero Defect, Zero Effect) is a certification program implemented by the Indian Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. It reviews the manufacturing units of the MSME sector based on the following criteria:
ZED certification applies to the manufacturing operation only. The processes, controls, and systems that are used to manufacture the equipment will determine how every machine is manufactured before it leaves the facility.
Registration as an exporter means that Soni is compliant with India’s formal requirements for exporting under the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) via an import/export code. All shipment documentation, customs classifications, and all other export-related regulations will be complied with within this export compliance structure.
